To understand the context of mental health, it is essential to consider the overall picture of human development. As we have seen throughout the world, even in highly developed countries during the COVID-19 pandemic, mental health can certainly be influenced by macro phenomena impacting society. In Africa, those factors of wellbeing vary widely from country to country, and access to mental health services follows overall development.
